Kevin R. Burns

Kevin Burns is Stavatti's Director of Communications. Kevin is currently the Program Development Manager for Wyle Laboratories in San Diego. An Associate Fellow with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Kevin is the Vice Chair for the AIAA History Technical Committee and the Vice Chair of the AIAA Homeland Security and History Technical Committee.

Kevin has a B.S. in Organizational Management from Houghton College and from 1998-2002 was the Marketing Support and Corporate Historian for Veridian Engineering in Buffalo, NY and Later San Diego, CA. In 2002 Veridian Engineering became a division of General Dynamics. From 1988-1998 Kevin was responsible for Marketing and Communications as well as Engineering Documentation for Calspan Corporation of Buffalo, NY wherein Kevin Handled all public relations requirements and acted as spokesperson with the media, while also writing, editing and the company newsletter. Kevin proposed and managed the Calspan's first website. Kevin was also the configuration manager for the company's only large production program.

From 1987-1988 Kevin was an Editor with Bell Aerospace Corporation of Niagara Falls, NY responsible for managing the logistical documentation group. Kevin led the technical manual and logistical support documentation requirements for the LACV-30 hovercraft and the AN/SPN-10, AN/SPN-42, and AN/SPN-46 Aircraft Carrier Landing Systems. Briefly consulting on all forms of government documentation requirements for General Electric of Rochester, NY from 1986-1987, Kevin was the Technical Writer for Anaren Microwave of Syracuse, NY from 1983 to 1986.

The Engineering Documentation Processor for the F-14, F-15, and F-18 aircraft antenna systems and the quality control administrator for the Radar Design Drafting Group, from 1979 until 1982 Kevin was with Hughes Aircraft Company in El Segundo, CA. Kevin has authored numerous technical papers published by the AIAA and has taught an accredited graduate course for teachers related to aeronautics and space programs in the classroom. In addition to Kevin's background in documentation and marketing, he also worked as a U.S. border patrol agent and was a deputy sheriff.
