The SM-27S/T Machete is presently under development with initial production aircraft scheduled to enter Initial Operational Capability (IOC) between 2012 and 2014. POTENTIAL END-USERS

Conceived to address real counter-terrorism needs, the Machete series enables air strikes directly at core insurgent forces in the field, in training, and in hiding. Particularly well-suited for low-level Close Air Support (CAS), COIN and Forward Air Control (FAC) above dense jungle, desert, maritime, and rugged mountain environments with limited forward and ground support, Machete aircraft will exhibit exemplary maneuverability, integrated sensors and electronic countermeasures, superior low-speed handling, short-field performance, high maximum level speed, significant external warload and reduced maintenance requirements. Designed to bridge OA-10C capabilities while succeeding A-37 Dragonfly and OV-10 Bronco aircraft worldwide, the Machete is the next-generation Super-COIN.

The Machete series addresses anticipated military CAS, COIN, FAC, and Advanced Trainer markets. Stavatti anticipates a market consisting of over 35 customer nations, with the primary end-user of the Machete being land based Air Forces and specific carrier based naval strike groups. The Machete series will be marketed domestically to DoD service arms including the USAF, USN and USMC. The Machete will market internationally to allied Air Forces including the air arms of NATO, ASEAN, and CENTO11 member nations that require COIN aircraft to counter current/circa 2013 and anticipated future insurgent threats. The Machete will be sold through Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) or DoD sponsored Foreign Military Sales (FMS). Stavatti Aerospace will provide complete lifetime CLS for all Machetes procured. CLS will be provided directly by Stavatti or through qualified, independently contracted Industry Team Members.

The SM-27S single-seat turboprop is an appropriate successor to OV-10 Bronco and A-1E Skyraider class aircraft and an alternative to the EMB-314/ALX AT-29 Super Tucano. The combat-capable, two-seat SM-27T is a direct successor to a variety of turboprop advanced trainers including the EMB-314/ALX AT-29 Super Tucano, Pilatus PC-9 and PC-21, Raytheon T-6A Texan II and AT-6B, Korean Aerospace Industries KT-1/KO-1 and the two-seat COIN-oriented IA-58A Pucara, and OV-10 Bronco. As wars of terror and insurgent aggression become more prevalent, the market for Machete aircraft can only increase. Originally conceived during a time of relative peace, the Machete program now has particular urgency in the wake of 9/11. Offering significantly greater speed, survivability, payload, armament and endurance than helicopter gunships and far greater endurance, efficiency, and economy in the COIN role than either the A-10 or Su-25, the Machete satisfies the COIN mission without compromise. A rugged flexible platform, the Machete will deliver precision guided ordinance in significant quantities while surviving substantial small arms fire and direct hits from Man-Portable SAMs.






RESPONDING TO REQUIREMENTS The SM-27S/T is a highly desirable weapon system which has evolved to address specific future needs of domestic and allied Air Forces. Stavatti Military Aerospace has engaged in active discussions with specific potential customers and has submitted information packages/proposals regarding the SM-27S/T in response to specific customer Requests For Information (RFIs) and Requests For Proposals (RFPs). Stavatti considers all information packages/proposals submitted in response to RFIs/RFPs to be proprietary and regards the acknowledgement of our response to particular RFIs/RFPs to be competition sensitive information. RFIs/RFPs to which Stavatti has responded to involving the SM-27S/T which we publicly acknowledge include: Solicitation Number FA8617-07-R-0001: Iraq (COunter INsurgency) COIN Aircraft On 25 May 2007 Stavatti Military Aerospace submitted a response to RFI Solicitation Number FA8617-07-R-0001. The response contained information related to the SM-27S/T Turboprop Machete.
