STAVATTI X-PLANE MODELS

Since its début, Stavatti engineers have recognized X-Plane® by Austin Meyer/distributed by Laminar Research as a valuable tool for new aerospace vehicle conceptual design. Described as “the world's most comprehensive, powerful flight simulator…(which)… has the most realistic flight model available for personal computers” (quote from About X-Plane http://www.x-plane.com/about.html) Stavatti designers began modeling particular aircraft in X-Plane's Plane-Maker for personal use shortly after it's introduction. In October 2005, Stavatti as an organization began looking into X-Plane as a conceptual design aid and subsequently began evaluating X-Plane as one of a litany of tools used in the initial phases of design concept evaluation. For over a year, Stavatti's use of Plane-Maker/X-Plane was limited to internal applications to model next generation concepts.

As a next generation aerospace vehicle manufacturer, Stavatti regularly receives requests by individuals interested in modeling future Stavatti aircraft, be it in the form of physical static or flyable R/C models or as simulators for popular PC applications. Having received numerous inquiries for technical data about Stavatti aircraft for simulator design, as well as a standing requirement to develop models appropriate for potential integration in Air Warfare Battlelabs, in late 2006 Stavatti management endorsed the formation of a team within the division which would become Stavatti Simulation for the purpose of developing accurate models appropriate for X-PLANE and commensurate desktop flight simulators for external distribution. This website and the models it presents are the result of that initiative.

The models featured in this site are for use with X-PLANE version 9.2 and later. Models are officially endorsed representations of planned and/or potential Stavatti Aerospace vehicles offering a high degree of detail and incorporating features typical to X-PLANE models. This portal serves as the primary interface from which customers may download X-PLANE compatible models. All models featured on this site are original Stavatti designs.

MACHETE X-PLANE MODELS

Stavatti X-Plane® V9 compatible models of the Stavatti Machete Turboprop, Turbofan and Super Machete are now available for complimentary download. These models have been developed by Stavatti and represent the anticipated production configuration of Machete series aircraft as approved for release following the 30 January 2009 Machete Program Critical Design Review.

Developed from actual Machete CAD files and engineering prints, these models feature detailed 2-D panels, 3-D cockpits, custom instruments and displays, and detailed 3-D objects including landing gear struts, armament systems, air inlets/air intakes, exhaust nozzles, and crewstations. Each model features external hardpoints, weapons selection, and arming and release interfaces, however, the models are not designed, nor intended for, simulation of combat. All combat simulation is dependent wholly upon the X-Plane® application and associated plug-ins. All external stores featured in the models, including ordinance and external pods/launchers/tanks, have been custom modeled by Stavatti Simulation. These models feature a variety of custom external stores including:

• GBU-31 JDAM, GBU-32 JDAM and GBU-38 JDAM
• AGM-84E SLAM and AGM-65K MAVERICK
• LAU-61C and LAU-10A rocket pods
• CBU-97 Sensor Fused Weapon (SFW)
• 150 USG Sargent Fletcher Model 401315 External Fuel Tank
• NAPALM Bomb/MXU Payload Pod
• AIM-120, AIM-9X and AIM-9M

You are invited to download these models free of charge directly from the Machete X-Plane Model webpage:
